Before an orgasm, your body becomes increasingly excited. Breathing, heart rate and blood pressure increases, pupils of the eyes dilate, the lips of the mouth darken, the nipples become erect, and the clitoris swells and becomes erect and exposed, much like the aroused penis. With more excitement, the skin becomes flushed and it begins to sweat. In the female, the labia, clitoris, vagina and pelvic organs enlarge in very much the same way as the aroused penis enlarges and becomes erect. Sometimes there is a plateau of excitement which is held for several minutes before you are about to orgasm.
The period of emission and ejaculation is called the male orgasm. In the male sexual function (to reproduce) requires both erection and ejaculation. Penile erection involves a complex interaction between three systems of the body: the vascular system, the nervous system, and the endocrine system.
Erection is the result of dilation of the arteries in the penis and an increase in arterial blood under high pressure. This causes the erectile tissue in the penis to become engorged. With increasing intensity of the sexual stimulus, the reflex centers of the spinal cord begin to emit impulses that leave the cord to the genitals and initiate emission, which is the forerunner of ejaculation.
The entire length of the penile urethra contracts rhythmically forcing seminal fluid from the length of the penis under pressure. When ejaculation happens, the rectal sphincter contracts the same time as the urethra. Similar to the vagina during orgasm, the penis contracts at 0.8 seconds intervals. Following 3 or 4 major squirts they rapidly reduce in frequency. Minor contractions of the penile urethra may continue for a few seconds in an irregular manner projecting a small amount of seminal fluid on barely any force. The less frequently a guy has sex, the more fluid he disperses during ejaculation. A larger volume can be more pleasurable than a lower volume. This different from women who mostly enjoy their second or third orgasm best.
Orgasm and ejaculation can happen separately. Orgasm involves the sudden pleasurable sensations and release of tension that occur in the genital area and other areas of the body. Ejaculation is the discharge of seminal fluid fro the penis. A man can ejaculate without experiencing orgasm and not often a man can experience orgasm without ejaculation. Most men who experience multiple orgasms ejaculate only once.
